Your goal-chasing personality is...
The Busy One
To say you’re a busy bee is a bit of an understatement… There are a lot of demands on your time. Let’s just take a moment to acknowledge that (although it might not feel like it) you’re doing amazingly to keep it all together!
But if you’re really honest with yourself… you’re finding it all pretty tough. You’ve got a lot on your plate right now. With your job, family life and running a home… it can feel like there isn’t much time to breathe.
You’d love to have a life that feels 100% true to you. But you’re not really sure where to even begin, let alone when you’re going to have the time to think about!
Don’t worry, this is where you start making that change.
You excel at…
Juggling multiple projects
You’re constantly multi-tasking, a skill that’s going to serve you very well in the future. Right now, you’re juggling multiple projects so often that it’s become normal to you!
Tackling big challenges
Nothing is too intimidating for you. If a challenge presents itself, you’ve grown accustomed to figuring out how to move forward, a quality most people wish they had
Being humble
Never one to celebrate yourself, you’re used to doing everything for other people. You think that’s normal but, in fact, it’s incredibly rare. You have so much more to share with the world than you realise!
All this time you’ve been busy, you’ve actually been learning new skills
Your goal-chasing prescription...
I’ve got one word for you. And I say it with kindness… Priorities.
Now’s the time for you to take a step back and start prioritising things. We need to create a little extra space for you to explore new options in your life.
Which means that you’re going to need to remove some things from your (overflowing) plate.
Setting your priorities
Chances are, you’re currently juggling a lot of things that you don’t need to be.
Can you ask for help? It could be getting some extra support at home, hiring an extra staff member for your team, or simply asking a friend or family member to lend a helping hand.
There will also be things that you can remove completely. Yes, really! There’s always something we think is essential. Until we remove it and… the world keeps spinning.
Keep a diary for a week and log everything you do throughout the day. At the end of the week, review your time log and ask yourself “is this having a positive impact on my/my family’s life?”. If it isn’t, it’s got to go.
This will help create space for you to take the right actions.
Finding clarity
- Rather than writing goals for yourself, begin by asking yourself what you value in life. How can you bring more of these values into your day to day?
- Start saying “yes” to new opportunities, things that you would previously assume you didn’t have time for. Keep track of how you feel in each one, is there something to explore here?
- Write yourself a challenge list, of things you’d do if you weren’t worried about time or judgement from other people. Then, schedule in one of these things every month and start stepping out of your comfort zone
